Maine Public Spending Research Group (MPSRG) collects and analyzes historical and comparative information about public spending and tax policy at the state, county, and local levels of government. It is a non-partisan, not-for-profit educational corporation created in April 2005.

MPSRG is a 501(c)(3) charitable educational organization, which makes your contributions tax-deductible. Our mission is to provide objective, non-partisan information and analysis to and the public and recommend practices and budget alternatives that support sound, sustainable fiscal policy and lead to strong economic growth. This is a long-term commitment to build a research group so that public spending issues - including their underlying causes, trade-offs, and effects - are better understood.

MPSRG has a committed Board of Directors that meet on a regular basis to discuss the mission and goals of the organization.
